Call in to speak with the host
Amanda Hodge has created the first Judges Resource Binder for the State of Alabama. The goal of these binders is to work at a grass roots level, involving community members as well as congressmen and our governor in a positive message about this very serious crisis in our family courts. Amanda realizes that we need to be heard and this problem needs to be fixed…however attacking our attorneys and judges and court-related professionals will only harm us. We need these people in our corners! Creating a tool that will help spread the word and talk about the crisis is the first step in getting the community to open its eyes and talk about this crisis. A long as we remain positive we will “kill them with kindness.” The goal with this project is to get support from state leaders (in the intro of the binders) in a way that is easy for them to do through a process that is all ready set up … letter writing. Then show our legislators that we mean no harm by distributing these binders peacefully, and gain valuable media support along the way; again this is a positive project that the media CAN cover. Build friends along the way. The end of each binder invites your judges to do 3 things: schedule a meeting to learn more, attend a CLE class on this subject and spread the word. Nothing threatening, and all things they can do with little effort. Start slow and be steady. Now you’ve got the players in your corner! Then you can slowly start to work with them on changing a state law or scheduling more speaking engagements. Use these binders to get the important players on your side.
It's good to talk.
