Show Notes

FVC focuses on imparting those who audience the genre of its history, disciplines, and its potential impact on mainstream culture. This venue hopes to touch its patrons mentally and spiritually while recognizing the artists of spoken-word poetry. In this we learn to appreciate the creativity, relevancy, and intentions of the artists.

The Winner of the Freedom Verse Cafe $50 Poetry Slam

Blessings to all of the STORM riders,

As we ride into the turn of a new season, may this be a season of regeneration and rebirth.  May you find yourself achieving more than you did in the previous year.

This week on the STORM we will have our final broadcast of 2008 on Wednesday 31 Dec. with the phenomenal spoken word artist and poet Taalam Acey to discuss his NEW project and some of what '09 will have in store for him and the spoken word genre, join us for that at 1pm eastern.  Also in this broadcast we will announce our winner of our Anniversary $50 Poetry SLAM from last week's show...and we have a WINNER, it was a tough one as all 17 poets that participated were all really good and the judge had a tough time in the selection (don't envy her) but she managed after much debate to choose the one she thought was the most moving and that winner is....Wednesday at 1pm.

Well 2009 is the year that the STORM is keeping your mind alive with the return of our full lineup and some additions.  We are kicking of the year with Black Unity, Friday Night Rhythms, Freedom Verse Cafe, and Youth IllumiNation with a NEW show coming from the mind and spirit of LoveOneSelf so stay tuned as we continue to deliver positivism and edutainment right here in the STORM.

Feel free to msg me to inform me of improvements or content.

Blessings and be safe in the new year and strive for better in '09.
