Jewel of Peridot  

Since ancient times, people have used crystals for their mystical and healing powers. The Peridot is used to help dreams become a reality, attract love and wealth, increase strength and vitality, and aid liver and adrenal function.  In addition, it has a calming effect on the nervous system, dispels negative emotions, and may promote sleep when worn to bed.  The Peridot is also known as Olivine or Chrysolite and is mentioned in the Bible under the Hebrew name of Pitdah.  Mined for over four thousand years, the best quality Peridot has come from the Myanmar, island in the Red sea, and Kemet. The ancient Kemetians called it the gem of the sun.                    

Although, I'm a beginner in the study of crystal energy, I’ve come to understand that the human body is a series of energy systems, and research reveals that crystals are devices with the ability to adjust and balance these systems.  One research revealed energy changes after a crystal healing session, and recorded the changes through the process of high energy physics photography, sometimes called Krilian photography, and blood platelet changes were noted and photographed under a microscope.  The research also reveals that crystals function as transformers and amplifiers of various energies into biological energies that restore balance and re-energize our biological system on the cellular level, thus benefiting our emotional, mental, and spiritual well being. This biological transfer of energy is based on the fact that the body is a synchronization of oscillating solid and liquid crystal systems, thus, allowing for the crystal healing energy technique to transfer directly to our systems.  Refer to DaEl Walker’s books on crystals.  

I conclude to say that the Peridot is my earthstone, and I was drawn to it as a pre-teen before I ever knew it was my special stone, and I have benefited in subtle ways from keeping the stone close to my body.  Furthermore, now that I’ve begun my study on crystals I realize that the practice of healing with crystals comes from our ancestors, the original peoples of earth, as far back as the ancient Kemetians and beyond.  I’ve added the study of crystals as a part of my metaphysical journey into self.  An ancient Kemetian proverb states “Know Thy Self and Thy Will Know God and the Universe.”  The road to knowing the inner-self is a long one, but traveling on it thus far has heightened my understanding of the nature of God and the magical workings of the universe.
