Jim and Jennifer welcome Rizwan Virk to the show. Rizwan is a well-known entrepreneur, author, independent film producer, and angel investor in Silicon Valley. He started his first company on a shoestring budget at the age of 23 and rapidly grew it into a multi-million dollar operation with offices around the country. Since then, he has started, grown, and sold several high tech companies in enterprise software, video games, and online advertising. His entrepreneurial exploits have been featured in Inc. Magazine, The Boston Globe, The Wall Street Journal and Tech Crunch.
But paralleling his success in the technology world, is his growing success as a filmmaker. Most notably, he was executive producer for the international sensation, THRIVE: What On Earth Will It Take? , a film that has been seen by more than 10 million people globally. Riz co-produced the documentary Sirius, narrated by actor Thomas Jane, about the life of Dr. Stephen Greer and his claims of existing energy technologies that would change the world.
His mesmerizing book Zen Entrepreneurship: Walking the Path of the Career Warrior is based on his experiences guiding him along the intertwined path of successful business and spiritual journey. This slightly fictionalized narration of his journey to ultimate personal and business success is an amusing and compelling story, entrepreneur handbook, life lesson instruction manual, and mystical key to the “hidden world” that determines one’s level of achievement all rolled into one. The book relays 14 key principles that any entrepreneur, and anyone else, will find to be essential steps toward personal and financial success…to ultimate riches.
Currently, Riz is running a new startup, and is an investor and mentor to dozens of entrepreneurs and filmmakers around the world.
It's good to talk.
