  A sign of Winter
  
  
  It will be some time before the cherry blossoms bloom again on the streets of Washington DC.
  The sign that Spring has sprung in the Nations Capital.
  
  A sure sign that Fall has arrived is the pardon handed down to a turkey to be kept from a dinner table on Thanksgiving evening.  The sure sign that winter is here and Christmas is upon us is the slow roasting every American feels of  The Presidential Pardon!
  
  Yes these Turkeys get spared long terms in the joint because they or their families can afford to buy their way out with a “contribution to the party”.   Lets look at the ghost of pardons past and present!  (Do you feel the feeling of  “A Christmas Carroll “falling upon you? I do!) 
  
  ( Place black & white dream scene here)
  
  A Specter bound in reel to reel tape recorders stands austere at the foot of one “W” bed . When W jolts out of his Presidential slumber, with an east Texas drawl you here “ who the hell are you and how did you get by Condie?!" 
  
  You then here a deep mournful moan, then a voice say “ I am the ghost of Pardons past”. I came here all the way from Yorba Linda. I’ll close the window It’s colder then Dick Cheney’s heart in here!  Never mind That W!
  
  In the spirit of Pardons Past you must find the biggest malefactors and violators of that "G D piece of paper" you can find  G W.  With a twinkle in his cobra-hooded eyes and a Red Riding Hood Wolf-like snarl on his face, W fishes out the key to the top draw of old resolute from his robe and hands Richard N “the List”.
  
  Over a fireside brandy the two check over the list like two teenage boys with a playboy magazine. With glee they check the list twice for who's been naughty or nice.  
  
  —Leslie Owen Collier of Charleston, Mo. She was convicted for unauthorized use of a pesticide and violating the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act.
  
  —Milton Kirk Cordes of Rapid City, S.D. Cordes was convicted of conspiracy to violate the Lacey Act, which prohibits importation into the country of wildlife taken in violation of conservation laws.
  
  —Richard Micheal Culpepper of Mahomet, Ill., who was convicted of making false statements to the federal government.
  
  —Brenda Jean Dolenz-Helmer of Fort Worth, Texas, for reporting or helping cover up a crime.
  
  —Andrew Foster Harley of Falls Church, Va. Harley was convicted of wrongful use and distribution of marijuana and cocaine.
  
  —Obie Gene Helton of Rossville, Ga., whose offense was unauthorized acquisition of food stamps.
  
  —Carey C. Hice Sr. of Travelers Rest, S.C., who was convicted of income tax evasion.
  
  —Geneva Yvonne Hogg of Jacksonville, Fla., convicted of bank embezzlement.
  
  —William Hoyle McCright Jr. of Midland, Texas, who was sentenced for making false entries, books, reports or statements to a bank.
  
  —Paul Julian McCurdy of Sulphur, Okla., who was sentenced for misapplication of bank funds.
  
  —Robert Earl Mohon Jr. of Grant, Ala., who was convicted of conspiracy to distribute marijuana.
  
  —Ronald Alan Mohrhoff of Los Angeles, who was convicted for unlawful use of a telephone in a narcotics felony.
  
  —Daniel Figh Pue III of Conroe, Texas, convicted of illegal treatment, storage and disposal of a hazardous waste without a permit.
  
  —Orion Lynn Vick of White Hall, Ark., who was convicted of aiding and abetting in the theft of government property.  
  
  - W also commuted the prison sentences of John Edward Forte of North Brunswick, N.J., and James Russell Harris of Detroit, Mich. Both were convicted of cocaine offenses. Forte, a well-known hip hop artist, who worked with the Fugees, Jean Wyclef, and Herbie Hancock.
  
  With a chuckle Richard N folds the list and hands it back and says "well It’s a start. What about “the Boys”?  With a wink and a grin W responds “ I am the decider remember?? I still have time to decide on more!
  
  With the third strike of the clock the two drank one last cheer proudly boasting that the Devil's time is almost here!
