What is crazy wisdom? It seems like a paradox of sorts, to be wild and wise and yet, the tradition of the trickster found its way into the mainstream of perrenial philosophy thanks to the likes of Rajneesh, Da Free John and the subject of today's show, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche.
Film maker, Johanna Demetrakas has just released "Crazy Wisdom" a film about the life, times and impact of Trungpa on the American, spiritual and cultural landscape. His methods of teaching aliveness were and still are controversial. He blurred the line between student and lover throughout his life as a teacher in the west. He drank, smoked and ate meat. He challenged peoples peceptions on a moment-to-moment basis about life and himself as a teacher.
We'll talk about the complex relationship between Trungpa, his students and his legacy as the man almost solely responsible for bringing Tibetan bhuddism to the west with a crack of thunder and unforgettable charisma.
In the second hour, we'll explore a more contemporary style of teaching and spiritual transference with Sonja Grace, who blends the shamanic tradition with the psychic and the intuitive method of contacting the godhead. She's the author of "Earth Ways: Healing Medicine For The Soul, A Practical Guide For Ceremonies Of The Eath."
In additon to being an author and intuitive counselor, she also assists in searching for missing children by tapping into her psychic vision.
