The Day The Bill of Rights Was Required

Tomorrow, September 12th, is the anniversary of the day in 1787 when George Mason and Elbridge Gerry stood up at the Constitutional Convention and declared that this "New" Constitution would not be ratified without a Bill of Rights.
These brave, intelligent men realized that the proposed Constitution would make the central government much bigger, much more abusive and tyrannical than even King George III's government had been.
In order to "bind the government," these men first created a Preamble for the Bill of Rights that gave its purpose, "to prevent misconstruction and abuse," followed by the absolute declaration that "these are further declaratory and restrictive clauses on the Constitution."
This makes it pretty clear that this document would be the final protection and the final ammunition necessary to prevent and, if necessary, restore a government based on God-given, unalienable rights.
Tomorrow we celebrate this anniversary by exercising our rights, although the current out-of-control government has thoroughly infringed upon almost all of them.
