This week we're honored to welcome Michael Kaplan to Franchis Friday. Michael is an advocate for Military Veterans who are transitioning into the civilian workforce, and is joining us to share his passion for veteran entrepreneurship. He'll talk about his book, "The Prior-Service Entrepreneur", and the various types of organizations for corporate and academic instituations that he develops and impliments. Michael will also talk about some of the greatest challenges that face veteran entrepreneurs, and ways to overcome those hurdles.
About Our Guest
Michael is a a passionate advocate for Military Veterans who are transitioning into the civilian workforce, and works as a mentor with numerous academic and corporate organizations serving that cause. In support of that initiative he wrote "The Prior-Service Entrepreneur: Providing Military Veterans with the Competitive Skills to Start a Successful Business,” which currently enjoys a 5-STAR rating on Amazon. Michael also regularly writes and publishes articles for Veteran organizations and advocacy groups in the form of blogs, newsletters and special interest stories.
Michael is currently working with various departments within the University System of Georgia to develop a comprehensive military-to-civilian transition program for student veterans. The goal of the program is to assist first- and second-year students to effectively transition and manage the university experience as adult learners, and to provide third- and fourth-year students with the critical skills and knowledge needed to be highly competitive in the civilian workforce and business community.
