How are the peace and harmony of your life, and your spiritual values, fostered by being in thriving and abundant habitats? How are they impacted by habitats that are suffering and polluted? We humans are born of and live in the midst of nature, yet how much do we think of nature or the wild animals who try to live around us? Just as humans affect the environment and other animals, human psychology is affected by environmental conditions, and are impacted consciously and subconsciously by animals. How does this happen? What is important for us to know about this mostly-unexplored situation? Find out when Valerie Harms, author of Dreaming of Animals and 8 other distinguished books on the topics of psychology and the environment, appears on Full Power Living, 9 a.m. PT December 2.

In Dreaming of Animals, Valerie Harms posits that the convergence of psychology and ecology might alter our perception of "community." She believes that a disconnection between humans and other animals has accelerated loss of species. Her hope is that by restoring the honor and importance of animals in our lives, we will be motivated to do more to save their habitat (and ours) from destruction. Harms says: "....animals [can]... become powerful allies when we want to change or lives and restore our strength, dignity, and well being. We can become our own shamans." She continues "The more we understand animals, the more we understand ourselves." And, "Feeling kinship with them lessens our loneliness, because we have a sense of expanded community within and without." Full Power Living listeners can talk toll-free with Valerie Harms during the live broadcast.
