We've heard this administration twist the use of the phrase 'freedom is not free' to shame and deceive the average, numb, dumb and fearful supposed 'citizens' known as Americans and to summon them to murder innocent people for their own covert agenda of greed and control. They have also twisted what it means to be patriotic and the good ole boyz we call Americans, have swallowed it 'hook-line-and-sinker.' The responsibility of patriotism and citizenship are to protect our Constitution and to ens

Common folks. A slim majority in the Senate and the House does not allow for real change. If the margins were greater and the results were as they are now, then I'd agree with those who are bemoaning the do nothing congress now in session.

Congressman Wexler, thanks for being our representative in Florida and doing the right thing. It would appear from the petition that the people are speaking and will continue to speak, even if noone is listening.

Congressman Wexler, What took you so long?? I've been waiting 7 long years for impeachment proceedings for the theft of the 2000 election and for 4 long years since Bush & Cheney decided--against the better judgment of the rest of the world--to attack Iraq! Thank you for at last joining We the People in our efforts to get Cheney impeached. We need to impeach Bush as well. To say otherwise is to treat him as Reagan was treated, denying that either of these presidents knew anything! Puh-leeze!

Thankyou Congressman Wexler, we are 100% behind your petition. Bless you for letting "We the People" be heard. "We the People" want Impeachment hearings for Cheney. This is our country, if anyone isn't with us, move aside, you are keeping us from getting where we want to go.

Representative Wexler is not a cosponsor of HR 333 introduced by Congressman and Presidential Candidate Dennis Kucinich. Why did he change the threshold from 50,000 to 250,000? Representative Baldwin has boldly cosponsored the bill. Representative Guiterrez hasn't signed as a cosponsor. We have the power people and it is so funny that Representative Wexler is surprised. So thankful that he mentioned Dennis Kucinich's name and commending his hard work.

I don't believe the Democratic leadership (Pelosi and cohorts) EVER believed it would have success with passing its major bills. It was always just an excuse not to conduct impeachment hearings, with an eye on 2008 elections. The leadership is totally spineless, and unpatriotic in not living up to its constitutional responsibilities. They can't see the forest for the trees. Also, it is revealing that the Republicans had no need to conduct these petitions and online programs to pursue impeach

As director of an impeachment partnership in a western state, I wish to stress that Wexler's submission of signatures supporting impeachment hearings must contain the threat of general strike (political and economic) such as contained in the pledgetoimpeach drive if the House Judiciary Committee does not hold hearings. If not, it is political posturing, and we've had enough of that. Bruce Russell Sr.

Rep. Wexler, first, thanks for your efforts re impeachment. While I agree with you the the grassroot activist are very supportive on impeachment, I am mystified as to why the A-list lefty blogs (firedoglake, digby, C&L, atrios, etc) haven't given your petition the kind of support they gave Dodd’s filibuster. It is a apparent that these blogs had a lot to do with the 500k emails he got in support of the filibuster. Here’s Glen Greenwald’s article telling the backstory. http://www.salon.com

Mr. Wexler is the only Democrat with enough gut to tell the truth and acting in the best interest of the american people. Thse guys in this administration should not only be impeached, but should placed in jail for treason and dereliction of duty.

No politition will ever tell you the Federal Reserve Bank is a Private Bank/Corporation. Try and ask a Congressman, Senator and see what they answer. They are affraid of these International Banks that make up the Federal Reserve. We borrow 2 1/2 Billion per day just to meet these bankers intrest.

As a former Republican/Libertarian, I voted a straight Democratic ticket in 2006, hoping and praying this administration would be reigned in. I want the Constitution and the Bill of Rights follwed as RULE OF LAW!! Congress must IMPEACH to re-establish the balance of powers and the Rule of Law. Thank you for your efforts, Sir. This is NOT a Democrat or Republican issue to my circle of acquantance - but one of law and neccessity. Please, at least have hearings 1/week until December 2008 then

I agree with this questioner. How is congress going to act if and when Mr. Cheney refuses to appear. This administration won't even allow a low level, 3rd rate lawyer to appear and congress is still wondering if they should file charges against Ms. Meirs for her blatant disregard for the law.

Congressperson Wexler, first and foremost thank you for adding your voice to the movement requesting impeachment hearings for Richard B. Cheney. Question: Will you be adding your name to the growing list of Cosponsors of H. RES. 333/799?
Did you ever wonder why common people never could ask questions of a Senator, President, Pelousy on Live Tv? Why?...because they are affraid what they will ask
if they are not stoped for past lies about war whats to stop an iranina war next?

i meant attorney general
Polousy was put in office acting as if she is for the people, but as you can see she works for the boss of Reps. & Dems and that the Banks
the office of the state's attorney should not be an ppointed post by the part in the white house. that would've made a difference durin these past 8 years.

I live in Oakland, across the Bay from San Francisco, Nancy Pelosi's district and where Cindy Sheehan is running against her in the 2008 election BECAUSE she has taken impeachment off the table. Other than supporting Cindy, camping out outside her residence, occupying her office, what do you suggest we in the Bay Area do to get Pelosi on-board and to release Conyers from blocking impeachment hearings?

Test
I know that the process of impeachment was mocked by the republicans, but a fair and judicious hearing on the impeachment trials is warranted in order to validate the process, no matter when the next impeachment process is undertaken. However if this administration is not brought to account for their activities, then what is to stop the next administration who is even less honorable, from taking this country down an even darker road?

there have been only two people with the balls to openly advocate impeachment, dennis kucinich and robert wexler. you'd think they were the only 2 democrats we have. sad but true. where are the rest of them? and why are they silent?

Distraction is the defense of Representative Wasserman-Schultz. Has Mr. Wexler been able to discuss his new perspective with her and has her view changed? I am in her district and to my knowledge, she has refused to change her view.
