FOUR DIRECTIONS RADIO is an Indigenous radio show dedicated to sharing news and information effecting all who share this planet. We will talk about controversial issues and how our listeners feel about these issues. Ultimately, we will share an understanding of issues and events that we may not have had previously.

Todays special guest :

Ruth Hopkins (Mdewakanton and Sisseton-Wahpeton Dakota, Hunkpapa Lakota) was born in Fort Yates, North Dakota on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation and is enrolled with the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate of the Lake Traverse Reservation in South Dakota. She holds a B.S. Degree in Biology with a Chemistry minor, and an M.S. in Biology with an Educational Leadership minor, both from the University of North Dakota. In 2008 she earned a Juris Doctorate in Law from the UND School of Law. She's held a wide variety of jobs over the years: blackjack dealer, disc jockey, grantwriter, science professor, attorney, etc...just to name a few, and has a wide variety of interests. Currently, she is the North Dakota EPSCoR (Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research) Tribal Colleges Liaison Manager for North Dakota State University and the University of North Dakota. She is also a Tribal Judge for the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate, a columnist for Indian Country Today Media Network, and a freelance writer who's first horror novella will be out in 2013. Ruth is also the former editor and a founding writer of Lastrealindians.com.
