    LeBron - Transcending the Sport

Rarely does the pawn overshadow the play.  Seldom does the actor outdo the movie.  Never does the athlete blow the sport out of the water.  Welcome LeBron James.  I found myself tuning in last night to watch LeBron, not the NBA.  I honestly had to think pretty hard to remember that the Cavs were playing the depleted Detroit Pistons.  In fact, I really don't care about anyone else on the court other than LeBron.  I clicked on TNT last night in order to watch one of the world's greatest athletes complete.$0$0$0$0LeBron is doing to the NBA what Tiger did to golf.  Now Tiger was the first exciting player the PGA has seen in years...which makes it easier for people to embrace.  LeBron has accomplished greatness in a league of great and exciting players.  The only other basketball player close to his level is Kobe- but the fact is most of us have seen Kobe for years.  LeBron is still fresh and new in our minds.  $0$0$0$0$0Its kind of like watching a terrible movie just because Jennifer Anniston is in it.  The NBA Playoffs arent terrible but they arent the most exciting thing to watch for two straight months.  With that said- I will be tuning in to watch the Cavs---errr I mean LeBron play hoops.  $0$0$0$0$0And all you haters- stop it.  Appreciate greatness.  This is what sports about, even if you arent a fan of the Cavs.  I cant stand the "hate Tiger guy" or the "hate Notre Dame" or "hate Duke" guys.  Just because they are, or have been good?  Just because they are better than your team?  Let's face it, if your team won every time, then it wouldnt really be interesting.  There would be no drama, you wouldnt have to watch.  Appreciate greatness and wait your turn.$0$0$0$0$0-cb$0
