The Mysterious Melchizedek
The mysterious Priest-King Melchizedek is only briefly mentioned in Judaism, surrounded by mystery and Talmudic speculation. Rabbinic opinions vary. Indeed, he's only briefly mentioned in the Tenach (known to Christians as the "Old Testament"): in Genesis 14, with no commentary, no explanation: he simply appears on the scene, blesses Abraham, then disappears from all recorded history for 2000 years, except for one singular reference: Psalm 110. It is only in the New Testament that Melchizedek figures prominently and written about in detail. This Thursday evening we discuss why. So tune in and take notes! Your host: Rev. Rick Anderson, on "Jewish Roots" each Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 PM, EST. Listen LIVE through Twitter, LinkedIn, GooglePlus and Facebook/com/fougcrew.
