The Scandalous Birth of a Scandalous Child Of all the names Jesus was called at his birth and during his life (Emmanuel, Prince of Peace, Lamb of God), one name sticks out as particularly jarring. It doesn't seem to fit in with all the others: that name is "Scandalon" (Literally, a "stone of stumbling"). We get the word "scandal" from that Greek word. The imagery here is that of a rock on a path that people trip over as they walk. Later, "scandalon" came to mean a thing that offends people. The Prince of Peace a "scandalon"? This Thursday evening we look at why. Tune in and take notes! Your host: Rev. Rick Anderson, on "Jewish Roots", each Thursday at 9:30-10:30 EST. Listen LIVE through Twitter, LinkedIn, GooglePlus and Facebook/com/fougcrew. To call with a question or comment: 347-324-5759. To access Rev. Anderson's website: http://www.scripturesdramatized.com
