Our topic tonight( Thursday) is tithing, and beyond that, the giving of other monies in response to requests by church ministers. What do the Hebrew Scriptures say about this, how did it apply in the Old Testament, and does it apply today? The asking for and giving of money in the name of God is a much- maligned subject and suffers from continuous abuse. The controversy among Christians is not whether or not tithing was right for the Jews of the past, but whether it's mandatory for Christians in the present. But the broader question is: whether it's proper to ask for money from the pulpit or in the name of God. Or......is that mixing the sacred in with the profane? Tune in, and take notes! Your host: Rev. Rick Anderson, each Thursday Night @ 9:30 PM EST. To call in with a comment or question:(327) 324-5759.www.blogtalkradio.com/fougcrew
