These past two weeks we have discussed ,God The Spirit and God The Son. It is only by Jesus ( God The Son) that we get to come and know Our Father God. John 14:6 says "I am the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me ." It is through the Holy Spirit's ( God The Holy Spirit) power within us as believers in Christ ,that we know what God expects from us and wants our lives to be for Him. The Holy Spirit is a powerful person on our side, working for and with us . John 14:16 Jesus promised " And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor, who will never leave you ." Verse 17 says "He is the Holy Spirit ,who leads into all truth ......" Perhaps the most familiar Christian concept of God is as Father , for God is addressed in The Lord's Prayer as "Our Father, who art in heaven .... ." Let's take some time and examine this metaphor for God as Father.
