According to a Report by the Georgia Department of Human Resources in July, 2001 there were approximately 13,965 children placed in Georgia’s Department of Children and Family Services custody. Out of 13,965 children 7,768 were placed in foster care, 735 were placed in child caring institutions or hospitals, 962 were placed in group homes, 2,696 were placed with relatives, 828 were considered in foster care with relatives and 460 were free for adoption. So you see the need is great and we should be stepping in to make a difference. Volunteers and Sponsors are greatly appreciated!
