Flyy, Female & Fabulous: LaNiyah Bailey

This edition of Flyy, Female & Fabulous features LaNiyah Bailey, a seven-year-old first grader from Chicago. In such a short period of time, she has been through a lot. But, with the support from her family, LaNiyah has overcome many obstacles. 

LaNiyah shares her story in her book, "Not Fat Because I Wanna Be," which is based on her own true to life instances of being bullied and teased because of her weight. Since its release, she has been featured in several media outlets, and the book is currently in lesson plans in schools throughout the U.S. and Korea. Her second book, "LaNiyah Bailey presents Stand Up! "Bully Busters...Coming to Town," is available as well. LaNiyah's overall mission is to influence children to accept all people the way they are and to treat others the way they'd like to be treated.
