For Sports Sake

For Sports Sake is a raw look into the social psychology of today's athlete and their trials and tribulations. We also take in consideration the pressures place on today's athletes from the craddle to the grave. Young to Old, Rich to poor. My job is not to make fun of the hiccups some of our most talent athletes we have but let's create a dialogue to help some who can't help themselves no matter how much money and power is involved. We will discuss the past as well as the present and may look into the future with yesterday's and today's athlete.

    Date / Time:

    Role Model (Part 2).

I felt compelled to write a part two to last weeks blog about professional athletes being assigned to the position of professional role models. I am only writing this in defense of Michael Phelps. Not, because I am from Maryland or I believe in 420. I'm defending Phelps because as I stated in my first show about the power that sports posesses in American culture. And we as family, friends, and fans have to protect our self esteem in order to continue to love what we hold close to our hearts. I ask as a  fan of Michael Phelps and for the sake of sports " why would you throw this young man under the bus?" "Clearly he's not your role model, so why do you care?" Who ever sent this photo is part of the problem I discuss each week. Even if your not a fan or supporter of Phelps" for the sake of sports, why?" " Was it worth it?" If your such a Philanthropist or Good Samaritan put the shoe on the other foot. I hope as long as you live, you will never be allowed in a party or any venue. It makes me angry because it's not always the athletes we expect to make sacrifices for the sake of sports. Now, we have to expect the same from everyone. Whether you like sports or not. So, please think before you decide to kill someone elses joy. It's a lot of people that will be affected by someone who clearly did this for some type of recognition. There is nothing new under the sun, including April 20th.

This is only my opinion. I am not advocating the use of illegal drugs. I am only advocating the love for sports in a time where as professional sports is our nations safe haven...
