Call in to speak with the host
On this week's menu, it's “The Return of Snack Attack!” with Special Guest Reed Glidden, Persistent Entreprenuer, President and Founder of Beanfields.
Early retirement was great for the gardener and musician in Reed Glidden. It was hell on the entrepreneur and food advocate. He had the itch. There was no cure. If he was going to start up another business it had to be in Natural Foods. This time he wanted to sell his own brand. It had to be something he believed in. As he searched for ideas he began to notice that many snack companies had begun using beans as an ingredient. Well, beans and rice are his favorite meal. So, the process began. Reed's wife and co-founder Liza Braude-Glidden got tired of hearing him talk about whether bean and rice tortilla chips would work so she whipped some up. They tasted great. Those first home-cooked chips were pretty darn close to the chip that is now being sold around the country as Beanfields Bean & Rice Chips! Tune in as we talk to this trailblazer.
It's good to talk.
