The Messiah Will Be Betrayed By One Of His Followers
Psalm 41:9 – “Even my close friend, whom I trusted, he who shared my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.” (NIV)
Psalm 55:12-13 – “It is not an enemy who taunts me – I could bear that. It is not my foes who so arrogantly insult me – I could have hidden from them. Instead, it is you – my equal, my companion and close friend.” This [prophecy is talking about Jesus being betrayed by Judas... Matthew 26.46-50...Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand.”Betrayal and Arrest in Gethsemane And while He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people. Now His betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the One; seize Him.” Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him. But Jesus said to him, “Friend, why have you come?”Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and took Him.
How many of us can relate to being betrayed. Jesus has been touched by our weakness and situations. Praise God for the Lord Jesus.
