From My Mama's Kitchen Talk Radio

From My Mama’s Kitchen Talk Radio is based on the book - From My Mama’s Kitchen – “food for the soul, recipes for living” by Johnny Tan. Originally intended as a cookbook to preserve his moms’ recipes, transpires into a motherly love-inspired book about his personal relationships with his adopted mom in Malaysia and with eight other wonderful women whom he refers to as “mom” in the United States. Over the years, his mothers were his “team of counselors”who provided him unconditional motherly-love. They were always available whenever he needed them – to talk, get some advice or just to sound off. This weekly talk show hosted by the author, Johnny Tan, pays tribute and honors his moms and moms everywhere for their timeless loving wisdom, spiritual and inspirational contribution in making a positive difference in the lives of their children and their loved ones. It provides a platform for everyone to share their own experiences of “motherly love” on-air with other listeners. With the support of special guests, Johnny’s vision and mission is to educate, entertain, and inspire everyone the significant role mothers’ play in our daily lives and to bring “motherly love” to center stage. What I have learned from my 9 moms – Respect the past, because it is a classroom for lessons learned. Be prepared for the future, because it is my destiny. Always live in the now, because every moment is a memorable experience. – Johnny Tan. From My Mama's Kitchen Recommends... Alex Gutierrez - Mother Mary's Resurrection

Continuing with our August theme – From My Mama’s Kitchen Recommends… authors who have written excellent books that touch the heart and move the soul!)

My guest for this week is Alejandro (Alex) Gutierrez, an author who found inspiration from within – his personal journey of discovering his spiritual roots.

Alex was born in Chile and currently lives in Sedona, Arizona. He graduated as an engineer and worked in marketing and management most of his career. His dream was to one day be his own boss, so with other entrepreneurs he built a successful Internet based incentives and loyalty business, which was acquired in 2006. Alex left the position of CEO of this company in early 2008 to pursue his next dream: to write a book about his spiritual journey.

His first book reflects more than ten years of search for the why’s of many religious and spiritual questions. It all started in 1997 when after having an encounter with cancer, Alex pondered upon the issue of life and death and why we are here that led him to many different avenues of discovery, including his Catholic heritage, which he had never really practiced before. He read the philosophers, as well as the new age books. The Bible was a major source of information.

He also researched individuals who have had unusual talents that allow them to either channel entities or beings that are not walking the earth. He interviewed people that claim to be visionaries or channels of Mary. His open mind and genuine desire while not attaching to any movement, group or idea, makes him an ideal author to bring forth such a complex and controversial topic as the redemptive aspect of Mother Mary.

His book "Mother Mary's Resurrection" received the Finalist award in the Spirituality category of the 2009 Next Generation Indie Book Awards.

Please call 347.327.9995 to join Alex and I live on the air on Tuesday 8/18/09 from 10-11 am US CDT as we discuss his life’s journey, his new book, and his current mission in life.
