From My Mama's Kitchen Talk Radio

From My Mama’s Kitchen Talk Radio is based on the book - From My Mama’s Kitchen – “food for the soul, recipes for living” by Johnny Tan. Originally intended as a cookbook to preserve his moms’ recipes, transpires into a motherly love-inspired book about his personal relationships with his adopted mom in Malaysia and with eight other wonderful women whom he refers to as “mom” in the United States. Over the years, his mothers were his “team of counselors”who provided him unconditional motherly-love. They were always available whenever he needed them – to talk, get some advice or just to sound off. This weekly talk show hosted by the author, Johnny Tan, pays tribute and honors his moms and moms everywhere for their timeless loving wisdom, spiritual and inspirational contribution in making a positive difference in the lives of their children and their loved ones. It provides a platform for everyone to share their own experiences of “motherly love” on-air with other listeners. With the support of special guests, Johnny’s vision and mission is to educate, entertain, and inspire everyone the significant role mothers’ play in our daily lives and to bring “motherly love” to center stage. What I have learned from my 9 moms – Respect the past, because it is a classroom for lessons learned. Be prepared for the future, because it is my destiny. Always live in the now, because every moment is a memorable experience. – Johnny Tan. Women Empowerment - Momtrepreneurs - Grateful Chics - Tracy Beyer & Christine Stevens!

I am excited to have a couple of great ladies from Houston, Texas  whom I met about a month ago at a tradeshow in Dallas, Texas to close out our month long theme of Women Empowerment – “Momtrepreneurs .”

One is a mother of three boys and the other is preparing herself to be a mother because she loves children. This dynamic duo Tracy Beyer and Christine Joy Stevens combined their creativity and skills to form a company called “Grateful Chics.”

Grateful Chics was started in the mind’s eye of Christine. She was inspired by a simple little gift; a set of Gratitude Beads Tracy had made for her as an expression of “I love you being in my life.”  Both women were at a place in their lives where they needed change, enlightenment, and spirituality. The idea of the beads came to Tracy while reading Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, a book Christine suggested to her.

Driven by her natural talent, ability and what Christine described as Life’s Opportunity (God-incidences) she wasted no time in getting Tracy to join her in starting a business selling these beads to other women and mothers.

These specially designed beads act as a special reminder to their owners to take a little time out daily to reflect upon the many wonderful things that they can be grateful about in their daily lives, and keeping them connected to the goodness that exist all around them that are sometimes taken for granted.

Please call 347.327.9995 to join Tracy, Christine and I live on the air this Tuesday 7/28/09 from 10-11 am U.S. CDT as we discuss their journey to becoming Momtrepreneurs and “The Gratitude Beads” – their gift to all moms.
