From My Mama's Kitchen Talk Radio

From My Mama’s Kitchen Talk Radio is based on the book - From My Mama’s Kitchen – “food for the soul, recipes for living” by Johnny Tan. Originally intended as a cookbook to preserve his moms’ recipes, transpires into a motherly love-inspired book about his personal relationships with his adopted mom in Malaysia and with eight other wonderful women whom he refers to as “mom” in the United States. Over the years, his mothers were his “team of counselors”who provided him unconditional motherly-love. They were always available whenever he needed them – to talk, get some advice or just to sound off. This weekly talk show hosted by the author, Johnny Tan, pays tribute and honors his moms and moms everywhere for their timeless loving wisdom, spiritual and inspirational contribution in making a positive difference in the lives of their children and their loved ones. It provides a platform for everyone to share their own experiences of “motherly love” on-air with other listeners. With the support of special guests, Johnny’s vision and mission is to educate, entertain, and inspire everyone the significant role mothers’ play in our daily lives and to bring “motherly love” to center stage. What I have learned from my 9 moms – Respect the past, because it is a classroom for lessons learned. Be prepared for the future, because it is my destiny. Always live in the now, because every moment is a memorable experience. – Johnny Tan. Women Empowerment - Momtrepreneurs - Allegra Huston - Take Two!

The theme for July is Momtrepreneurs!  One of the greatest gift you can receive living in the United States is the opportunity to own your own business. Whether it is home based, a brick and mortar store, or an internet business, everyone has the opportunity to be successful in their pursuit of this American Dream.

In today’s economy more moms are looking for ways to be enterprising and be more independent when it comes to taking care of themselves and their families.

Nothing can be more challenging and rewarding for today's women than having the ability to pursue a successful business career while at the same time being there for their loved ones.

Allegra Huston was born in London and raised in Ireland, Long Island, and Los Angeles. She has worked with Chatto & Windus publishers in London and Weidnfeld & Nicolson, where she was Editorial Director from 1990 to 1994. She has been a freelance writer and editor for more than ten years; her work has appeared in The Times, the Independent, the Tatler, and Harper's Bazaar (all in the UK), in French Vogue, and in the U.S. in People, the Santa Fean, and Mothering.

As a momtrepreneur - she recently wrote a book titled Love Child - A Memoir of Family - Lost and Found, which came out in April 2009.

Please call 347.327.9995 to join Allegra and I live on the air on tomorrow morning 7/7/09 from 10-11 am CDT as we discuss her life’s journey through some of the most wonderful, challenging and yet educational time in her life which shaped her to be the woman she is today!
