Seems that tactic isn't exclusively for the Global Warming/ Climate Change/ whatever-the-hell-it's-gonna-be-called-this-year crowd. They've also been working within that parameter of sneaking things in under the cloak of darkness, such as Governor Cuomo slipping legislation through with the New York state assembly. The Department of Homeland Security did so, as well, by revoking James Yeager's Tennessee state issued concealed carry permit. They bypassed three entities that have a say in the matter, but didn't care, knowing there'd be no fallout due to the harsh nature of Mr. Yeager's YouTube video postings. The e-mail that was sent notifying him was also sent within minutes after the third "Pack Your Bags" video was released. The first was due to an Jovan Belcher who had a "mental imbalance", committing a heinous act with a handgun. This tends to dovetail perfectly with the radical Leftists, both in the media and in the seats of power of our government, in their attempts to remove firearms from the possession of a vast majority of US military veterans, whom many in the Leftward Media will deam as being "afflicted with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder." The UN Disabilities Treaty has been brought up as "on par with the Americans with Disabilities Act to bring forth even more fairness and equity to those who are either mentally or physically infirm in our nation." What's NOT brought up is how it would be another chance for the UN to supercede our Constitution. This will bring on even more rules of "fairness to all" in a slowly cascading avalanche of edicts, which would have UN "overseers" making sure America cowtows to them and bring them to heel. You have the accidental burning of Qu'rans in Afghanistan, which were confiscated from suspected Taliban insurgents, but were thrown out due to the "added text passages" intended to pass coded messages. The other is the subject of Rick Santorum's faith, which has become more of a target in the past month and a half. The first item mentioned is one that is getting a back burner routine done to it, thanks to the distractionary nature of the second. The Professional Left Media are constantly looking for something that will not only justify their careers and cement them in history, but also every chance to help their Beloved Kenyan Premiere in the West Wing at ALL COSTS. Downplaying the "surrender monkey" aspect of not only his apology, but also those of the senior Department of Defense office holders was just one dirty jobs needed to be done, but SOMEONE had to do it. This includes leaving out important aspects of news stories [those pesky things called "FACTS"], even though the Pulitzer Committee might pass them by.
