Happy birthday!!!

Hi There Well, I fell off the Flybaby wagon. I had a business trip, my mom came to dogsit while I was away overnight, and I did a panic semi-clean before she came but it didnt' include vacuuming the LR or dusting, or clearing off the kitchen table. Turns out she invited a couple of friends INSIDE to visit. So I am mortified... One was going to bring her husband to take measurements for a built-in cabinet for my DR, but it is so cluttered that my mom told him not to come!!!! I am going to try to get back in the clean sink, make your bed habit tonight/tomorrow a.m.... New TV is great although w/ just plain cable (not digital) the flaws in the picture show better on a digital capable TV. I am glad to have a new TV and will be even happier once I've figured out the proper way to hook up the VCR (yes, I still have one) and DVD!

I would like for my new FLYlady page to be a place where I can blog about my somewhat "mundane" activities and thoughts. I hope to meet other people on here and forge new friendships throughout the country.

Haven't blogged in several days, but I have been doing my "swish and swipe" and "shinky sink" thing.  Also have been keeping up with laundry and all.  My house isn't really cluttered and stays mostly neat and picked up since it's just my husband, one indoor cat and myself here.

Today we will head back to Birmingham for my follow-up visit to my doctor.  I dread the drive - 4 hours - geesh!  Wish I could find a local gyn that I trust and feel comfortable with, but that is such a personal thing and I have always felt that my dr is fantastic.  Anyone who has ever been shuffled through the medical network knows how important it is to have a dr you truly trust and feel at ease being in his/her care.  Oh well, enough about that...

I'm excited about the "flysister" thing, received the info on my "sister" yesterday just before leaving the house to go to the grocery store so I already have a card to send her.

I must go for now - I need to do some last minute picking up, packing (we will stay the night in B'ham) and take my shower.

Today has just been one of those days that has ticked right along, although not necessarily the way in which I intended.

It's now closing in on 11:00 am and I STILL DO NOT have on my lace-up shoes, even though I got up at 4:30 am.    I HAVE, however, been to the grocery store, done my "swish-n-swipe," changed my bed sheets (and am currently washing the ones that just came off) and I have also kept my kitchen AND sink shiny.

Here's my excuse for not yet having my lace-up shoes on for the day...

I planned on today (namely this morning) being a "rough-house-with-the-dog-day."  For that reason I have not yet had my daily shower (cause I don't want to get cleaned up only to end up smelling like dog).  Since I have not had my daily shower I did not want to put clean socks onto my funky feet and I sure didn't want to use yesterday's socks because... well... EW!  Anyway, that is my excuse for not being dressed to shoes.

I do have on my crocs, sweatpants, and a floppy shirt which I wore to the grocery store a while ago.  My sweatpants are a must at the moment since I had some minor surgery last Friday (I can't believe it's been a week already).

Oh well - Have a good day!!

I found the FLYlady site yesterday and followed the "baby steps" for day 1.   I'm really eager to get things moving in the right direction but feel that I won't be able to do everything required for the next few days due to a recent minor surgery (laporoscopic).

I just hate having something that bogs me down when I'm in that "raring-to-go" state of mind.

Last night I DID shine my sink before bed.  I also took my shower, put out fresh clothes for today, and made sure I wouldn't have some sort of horrible roadblock facing me when I got up this morning.

This morning as soon as I got up I put on my shoes (couldn't make bed cause DH was still in there).  Brushed teeth, swished and swiped, went to kitchen and unloaded dishwasher.  So far everything seems to be ticking along.

Yesterday's mission was nightstands in the bedroom.  Since I really only have one, I will probably incorporate it into today's mission which is dresser straightening.

Well, I'm off to get started.
