Our population is changingso much that our workforce is going to be hugely impacted over the next ten years or so. All of the Baby Boomers are entering retirement age but continuing to work. So recognizing where the competition will be and where the jobs will be is really important right now.

Workers between the ages of 65-74 years old, will increase by 83% from where it is today. They forecast that workers between the ages of 55-64 years of age, will grow in numbers by 26%.

What this says then, is that older workers will continue to work to a much older age, and therefore the competition for jobs will change.

Talent shortages will be in specific areas too. The major areas where there will be shortages will be in healthcare, education, technology, science engineering, and mathematics.

Anyone who listened to President Obama’s Inaugural Speech this last week, heard him reinforce the talent shortages  in science and math fields.

Join Flex Hour Jobs as we discuss what the workforce wil look like over the next 10 years and how to keep yourself employable.
