Sonya Branch Johnson knows how hard it is to lose weight.  A formerly 300-pound Mom who began to turn her life around when her doctor wrote "obese" on her chart, Sonya has lost 70 pounds and continues to struggle with her weight.  She lost her own parents to diabetes and cardiovascular disease before they turned 50, and wants to turn the tables for her own kids, increasing the odds for a long life and being a healthy role model.

But Sonya's passion extends beyond her own family.  She is driven to help obese children get their lives on track through her job as a Physical Therapist Assistant and Certified Personal Trainer at the Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital Center for Weight Management.  "I'd do anything for these kids," Sonya says.  "I just don't want them to be forty and figuring it out.  And I want parents to know, you've got to be accountable!  You've got to be an example for your kids."

Learn about Sonya's coaching techniques and how parents can apply them at home on the March 15, 2012 fitsmi Radio Show!
