And increasingly, bullies have enjoyed targeting those of us who struggle with our weight. In a brave new book (recently turned into a movie) entitled The Fat Boy Chronicles, authors Mike Buchanan and Diane Lang tell the story of student Jimmy Winterpock, who struggles to adjust to high school while facing daily torment from a group of mean-spirited classmates. While Jimmy’s situation may seem extreme, it’s unfortunately far from uncommon.
