Show 44 is all about SHINE FIGHTS! That’s right SHINE FIGHTS! If you haven’t had a chance to see this card it’s stacked with awesome match-ups. May 15th in Fayetteville, NC, Ricardo Mayorga Vs. Din Thomas will bring the question to rest of how will a boxer do in the cage. In the coming weeks we will break down the card and talk to some of the fighters, this week we get to talk to the man who made the match-ups for the card! The life of a mixed martial arts matchmaker is never easy. One of the most challenging jobs in all of combat sports, it takes a special breed of man with a certain level of discipline to succeed at it. Luckily Shine Fights has Ron Foster. Ron got into the world of MMA while serving in the military, he began training with UFC veterans Falaniko “Niko” Vitale and Ronald Jhun, as well as StrikeForce veteran Harris Sarmiento. We will talk to him about his days as a fighter, match maker, and putting this card together! Jamal “The Suit” Patterson is one of the top up-and-coming prospects in MMA’s light heavyweight division. Despite not getting his start in jiu-jitsu until age 27 at his father’s urging, Patterson has excelled in the sport and has even traveled to the Abu Dhabi Combat Club World Submission Wrestling Tournament. Patterson earned the nickname “Suit” from his day job as a salesman for high-profile dental company Invisalign, an ironic career choice for a mixed martial artist, indeed. By night, Patterson works to knock out his opponent’s teeth, and by day he works to do exactly opposite with Invisalign. Our last guest this show will be none other than Rick Hawn, that’s right four-time U.S. National Judo Champion. Now a 4th-degree judo black belt, Hawn has been training and fighting in MMA for the last couple of years, and is undefeated at 6-0, having finished four of his six opponents in the first round. Hawn’s next MMA fight will be against one of the best BJJ artists in the world, 2009 Abu Dhabi Combat Club champion Braulio Estima.
