This show will be our last show based out of Idaho and as we leave town, a new promotion is rolling into town. First Strike Fights is making their promotion debut in Boise, ID Feb. 19th at the Knitting Factory. This is First Strikes first event and just like the name, they want to draw "First Blood!" 20 of Idaho's top MMA fighters will show ID what they have and bang it out in the Northwests best cage. This thing is 24 ft. wide and is unlike anything Boise has ever seen. Fighters from Boise’s elite fight camps including Twisted Genetiks, Jens Pulver’s Team Driven, Team Onslaught and others square off against Eastern Idaho’s Team Jabs MMA, Utah’s West Side Jiu Jitsu and more. We will start the show with Idahos best pound for pound amateur Zach "Hollywood" Owens. Zach is 6'3" and fighting at 170 lbs. He is 7-3 and training out of Jens Pulver's Driven Training Center. Zach has a great stand-up game and his JJ is enough to keep him out of most situations that end badly. We will also have Freddy Arteaga from Scott Jorgensen's gym Combat Fitness stopping by. Freddy is 5'4" and fights at the 135 lb class. Freddy is 6-3 in the cage, and has had some great beefs in the state of Idaho. Freddy is a fighter I will never forget due to his beef with Casey "Wildstyle" Johnson. Freddy will be fighting against Mark Cruz from Pocatello. Our last fighter stopping by is Aaron Sutton the opponent of Zach Owens in the main event. Aaron is a good wrestler and great striker. He is a previous Gold Gloves Champ and his and Zach's fight should be a great main event. Promoter Chris Hunt will be stopping by in the second hour of the show to talk to us about First Strike Fights and the direction he is hoping the promotion goes. We will also talk to Scott about the state of Idaho MMA and what they plan on doing to help/or keep it the same. This is the calm before the storm, so tune in and get ready for the next installment of FIST-ta-CUFF Radio!
