    Devotional Thought For Today

$0Hebrews 5:2 “Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.”$0$0I came across this verse as I was doing my devotion earlier this morning and it really stood out to me.  I just wanted to share a quick thought on compassion.  It is important for us to have compassion on those who are lost or backslidden.  According to this verse at one time we were in the exact same position that many of those around us are currently in.  We have compassion on sinners because we are sinners too.  We struggle with the same sins such as lying, blasphemy, adultery of the heart, and murder of the heart.  The Lord Jesus Christ had compassion on the lost because He went to where they were, He did not isolate Himself or have a pious attitude towards them.  This does not mean that we compromise our convictions or our doctrine, it means we need show compassion to them through our words and most importantly our actions.  The problem with most Christians today is that they have forgotten that we are the wretches the song refers to.$0
