As organizations grow, they lose their capacity to learn as company structures and individual thinking becomes rigid. When problems arise, the proposed solutions often turn out to be only short term (single loop learning) and re-emerge in the future.[3] To remain competitive, many organizations have restructured and a cultural change. To create a competitive advantage, companies need to learn faster than their competitors and to develop a customer responsive culture.  Join Chief Douglas Cline as he explores the Learning organization concept with why it is important to success of building a winning team. 01:02:00Fire Weeklynolearning, learning organization,Fire Weekly,Fire Weekly Radio, fireOrganizations do not organically develop into learning organizations; there are factors prompting their change. The way we train hasn’t changed in decades, yet the same cannot be said for our fireground.  Text books haven’t caught up.  And yet, the basic fundamental principles of fire behavior and building construction have NEVER been more important. Avid history buffs, Billy and Ron often point to the leadership styles from some of the greatest leaders in American history, and how they easily translate to our nation’s fire service. The examples they cite offer excellent guidance for everyone in any organization. This program is certainly a great listen for those facing important leadership challenges/opportunities in the fire service. It applies to any level of firefighter- from fire chief right on down to probationary member.
