EVA YAA ASANTEWAA Eva Yaa Asantewaa is a native New Yorker of Caribbean heritage and has worked with Tarot and other psychic and metaphysical practices since the early 1980s. Her writing on dance and other arts has been published since 1976, most notably in Dance Magazine, The Village Voice, The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and Gay City News. She teaches the annual Writing on Dance course for New York Live Arts. Her essays and poetry have appeared in various journals and anthologies, including "The Zenith of Desire: Contemporary Lesbian Poems about Sex", "Does Your Mama Know? An Anthology of Black Lesbian Coming Out Stories", and "Spirited: Affirming the Soul and Black Gay/Lesbian Identity".
