Last week's episode of Keeping It Reel wih FilmGordon can best be described as "an adventure." Every week we dedicate the show to a particular classic Black film and play music from the soundtrack during our commercial breaks. While we we had several songs from "The Last Dragon," we COULD NOT upload the songs, thus robbing our audience of the fun of remembering one of my favorite cult films. In addition, technical snafus also robbed us of an interview with sexy actress, Laila Odom co-star of Cinemax's After Dark series, "Zane's Sex Chronicles." We spoke at the conclusion of the show and we will reschedule her for a later show. While those aspects of the show didn't work, Black Box Office's CEO, Daryle Lockhart filled in admirably holding it down for two segments discussing everything from the 100th Anniversary of Black Film, a discussion of our favorite Eddie Murphy movie and even his thoughts on upcoming comic superhero films. I have a great deal of respect for Lockhart and will definitely look to have him back on in the very near future. We also reviewed several new films opening this week including the hit-and-miss time travel comedy, "Hot Tub Time Machine (Grade - D+), the erotically flaccid thriller "Chloe" (Grade - D), the Ben Stiller drama, "Greenberg" (Grade C) and the early season animated surprise, "How to Train Your Dragon" (Grade - B).For "Reel Talk with Reel Celebrities" remember to check out "Keeping It Reel" with FilmGordon every Thursday at 1pm and check out some of our past shows on FilmGordon Radio!
