This week on the BIG show, Keeping It Reel host Tim Gordon will spotlight the three directors who were the first to direct studio films in the modern era, Gordon Parks, Sr., Melvin Van Peebles and Ossie Davis. Over the course of 1969-70, these three directors created several classics including The Learning Tree, The Watermelon Man and Cotton Comes to Harlem. We'll discuss the films, their impact and how they set the stage for the era of Blackploitation and later inspired filmmakers such as Spike Lee and others. Plus, we'll have entertainment news and reviews with the Movie Mob and Wilson Morales all on the latest episode of Keeping It Reel with FilmGordon!
