FILM GEEK CENTRAL brings you a brand new episode, filled with the things you love!First up, Milla Jovovich returns once again in RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE. This is the fourth in the RESIDENT EVIL series, and the zombies have almost become secondary at this point. Secondary, that is, to the sight of Milla Jovovich shooting things.Notice a pattern? This one is also being released in 3-D, and is one of the only 3-D movies that seems to have fans interested in the process (Don't start, you know full well people are getting a little bored with it.). It also marks the return of Paul W.S. Anderson who directed the first installment, but only produced the others. Then, we have George Clooney plays a moody assassin in THE AMERICAN. You know, just once it might be interesting to see a happy-go-lucky assassin. Oh well. Not a ray of sunshine.Clooney continues to take roles that buck trends and are fascinating to watch. Hear that, young rising stars? You know when your agent tells you about the trash movies you have to do to maintain your fame? Take another look at this guy.Robert Rodriguez turns his fake trailer from a few years back into a very real film withMACHETE. This marks the first leading role of character actor Danny Trejo. He plays a guy assigned to kill a politician who is then double-crossed by his employers. It's just the first in a long line of events that begin the tide of revolution.Pictured: the Tea Party's worst nightmare. This one promises to be a sex and violence filled romp with a message. Robert Rodriguez, who shares directing duties with his editor, Ethan Maniquis, has also assembled an amazing cast for this exploitation extravaganza. In addition to Trejo, the film stars Robert De Niro, Steven Segal, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, Jeff Fahey, Don Johnson and Cheech Marin. FLIPPED is the newest film from Rob Reiner. Reiner hasn't had the best of luck recently, but he is still a talented director and it's usually interesting to see what he comes up with next. This film seems right up his alley. It's a romantic coming of age story told amongst the innocence of the eighth grade. Finally, Scott takes a solo look at PIRANHA 3-D. While the filmmakers insist this is not a remake of the Roger Corman-produced original, they are riding on the publicity attached to it. A bunch of prehistoric vicious piranha are released onto an unsuspecting public. Much biting, chewing, gnawing and burping ensues. Also, a really awkward love scene. The whole thing happens this Sunday at 8:00 PM Eastern / 7:00 Central on FILM GEEK CENTRAL! If you miss the show, you can always download it later.
