First up, is a film based on one of our most beloved TV shows of all time. THE A-TEAM follows the idea behind the show, with a tight-knit military team being framed for a crime they didn't commit. They escape from prison and escape to the underground, with the military in pursuit. This one has gathered a bunch of impressive talent both in front of and behind the camera. Now, I knew this show by heart, so bear with me as I rattle off character names. Liam Neeson plays Hannibal Smith. Bradley Cooper plays Ace "the Face" Pendleton, formerly played by the original Starbuck, Dirk Benedict. Sharlto Copely (DISTRICT 9) plays "Howlin' Mad" Murdock. And Quentin "Rampage" Johnson plays B.A. Barracus, previously the character of the iconic Mr. T.

Mr. T only approves of certified Film Geek Central jibba-jabba.

Believe it or not, there was a time when no one could believe a show as violent as THE A-TEAM was allowed on television. Early-80s puritans we so cute.

Next up is GET HIM TO THE GREEK, which in Film Geek Central circles has been known as "That Film Starring the Two Guys We Hate." Yes, it's true. Neither one of us are huge fans of either Jonah Hill or Russell Brand. Both of these people were in the film FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL and both of them were the worst things in it. But since we can't get a spin-off starring Paul Rudd and Mila Kunis, we get these guys.

Hill plays an underling to a music promoter who agrees to pick up a drug-addicted, hard-partying rock star played by Russell Brand. He has to get his charge in line and make sure he arrives at the Greek.

Er, wrong Greek

Ten years ago, Brand's character rocked the Greek Theatre in one of the greatest music spectacles ever. But does he still have what it takes? The word is that this is one of those films where the trailers don't do it justice. Full of sex, drugs and rock n roll, maybe this will make us forget all the mean things we've said about Hill and Brand. And then, we can get rid of the voodoo dolls.

SEX AND THE CITY 2 brings back the strong women from the television series and they've never looked better and hey, look new movie.

Dear God, what have those Photoshop monsters done to them?!?

After each of the women come up with reasons why they still aren't satisfied, they run off to Abu Dahbi for a week. Once there, they take in new sights but stick together as they figure out where their lives are going.

This is basically an event film for women who like shiny things and guilty pleasures. Does it recapture that fan base or should the girls hang it up? Aren't you impressed by how restrained we were through that entire description?

PRINCE OF PERSIA is the newest video game adaptation. Video game adaptations don't have a great track record at the box office for reasons that frankly baffle us. But this one is getting a bigger push than most. The film is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and a big Memorial Day opening.

This one has the unlikely casting of a shirtless Jake Gyllenhaal (ZODIAC, BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN) as the Prince, who is framed for the murder of his father and must go on an adventure to clear his name. Along the way, he comes in possession of a magical dagger which holds sands that can turn back time. We'll see how this one works out and whether Gyllenhaal can carry an action film.

The clothes say Prince of Persia, but the face says, "Where the hell's my latte?"

Next up, SPLICE is a low-budget horror film that was nevertheless given a huge push by Warner Bros. Adrian Brody (THE PIANIST, THE JACKET) and Sarah Polley (DAWN OF THE DEAD, THE SWEET HEREAFTER) play genetic scientists who cross a line and splice animal and human DNA together to make a new organism. But is the creature the next step in evolution, or the means to our destruction? We've wanted a good monster movie for a long time. Could this be the one?

By now, you should know what to expect from a SHREK film. It's a take-off on fairy tales with pop culture references sprinkled throughout. In SHREK FOREVER AFTER, our lovable ogre is starting to get burnt out on family life. He wishes for one day where can be himself again. He is cheated by Rumplestiltskin and faces a world where he doesn't exist. If he can't get Fiona to fall in love with him all over again, he'll fade away along with his whole timeline.

This film is being billed as the last SHREK film, although there will be a PUSS IN BOOTS film next Fall.

Ridley Scott's ROBIN HOOD didn't exactly set the U.S. box office on fire. In this version of the story, a man low on honor makes a sudden pledge to a dying soldier to return his sword home. Once there, he learns something about fellowship and comes face to face with his past. It's certainly not your standard Robin Hood film. With this one, Scott tried to create a grittier Robin Hood than we had seen on the screen ever before.

Granted, that's not terribly difficult.

We'll have all of this plus film news and our DVD Picks of the Week.

The whole thing happens Sunday night at 8:00 PM Eastern / 7:00 PM Central at Film Geek Central!
