Man, do I feel old. Has it really been twenty years since GHOSTBUSTERS II? Yes indeed and they are finally ready to move forward on the third installment. Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver are all said to be reuniting for GHOSTBUSTERS III. One notable absence? Ivan Reitman, who will not be directing. Another choice for director is Ramis, who is also a prolific comedic director. The film will be a passing of the torch as the older Ghostbusters welcome a new generation. Aykroyd said there may be one or two female Ghostbusters as well, with names Alyssa Milano and Eliza Dushku being mentioned (My guess is the studio may have some say in what young names are considered though). The script is not the one rumored to be floating around by Judd Apatow, who has his name attached to everything these days whether he wants it or not. Instead, the script is by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, who wrote Ramis' upcoming YEAR ONE. Aykroyd says that filming should be ready to begin this winter, but don't think it's a done deal. "Things could blow up at any time," he said.
