A very long time ago, human beings lived in harmony with one another and with the earth. There was no warfare, no slavery, and no poverty. Women were respected leaders of society.

Then, during a time of climate crisis, a new social order emerged. Chronic warfare, slavery and the subordination of women were its legacy all around the globe. Mythology and history declared that this state of misery was basic to human nature and had existed since the beginning of time.

But that was a lie. Archaeology is lifting the veil of history to reveal humanity as it once was. Cooperative, gender-balanced and peaceful. Who we once were, we might yet be again, if we can only remember.

Join Vanessa Halloum as she interviews author Nancy Wikarski.
