Welcome! I'm bringing the show back in a big way, and I think I'll start using my show blog to share new developments with my listeners as they happen! First off, allow me to explain the months-long delay in new shows; things really picked up for me late in the Spring, and I got involved in a school play along with graduation, and an excellent summer packed with adventure. I'm finally back this Fall, and I'm hard at work bringing YOU stimulating conversations with some of today's most interesting people. The sky is the limit! Brittany, being busy with her multiple jobs and busy life, had lots of trouble joining me for some of our more recent programs, and I've decided to take the helm of the show and get proactive in booking, hosting, and bringing a bold new approach to talk radio. Brittany will always be welcome on the show as a guest commentator, but I think this will mostly be a solo operation on my part. Recent Developments Speaking of recent developments, I'll give you a brief lineup of what listeners can expect in the coming month- Wednesday, September 2nd, 5 PM Eastern: From Cynthiana to Vogue Italia Celia Ammerman, America's Next Top Model final contestant Thursday, September 17, 4 PM Eastern: Interview with an Economic Hit Man John Perkins, Bestselling Author of "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" and "The Secret History of the American Empire" October, date and time TBA: Renaissance Woman Matuschka, Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer, model, singer I'm also working on booking interviews with KY Governor Steve Beshear, musician Andrew Bird, US Senate contender Rand Paul, and Nobel Prize winner Paul Krugman. Confirmation is still pending, but that's a general idea of where I'm aiming to take this show. Louisville IdeaFestival 2009 And finally, I want to share with all of you the news that I've been granted press credentials for one of Louisville's most exciting events of the year! Each Fall, the IdeaFestival plays host to dozens of presenters from around the globe, and attendees (and especially press) are encouraged to pick the brains of presenters both inside and outside of the exhibitions. I'll be bringing a digital recorder with me, and hope to land interviews with celebrated chef/adventurer/author/TV personality Tony Bourdain, musical child prodigy Marc Yu, and Chinese venture capitalist Po Chi Wu. The IF happens between the 23rd and 26th of September, so you can hopefully expect some shows resulting from audio I've uploaded from interviews with presenters. I also plan on freelancing these interviews to National Public Radio. As stated earlier, the sky is the limit! This show is looking to blow up really soon, and I'll need all the help I can get from my most dedicated listeners and fans. Tell your friends about the shows! Have a listening party at your place! Call in and talk to my guests! This Fall is looking to be a very exciting season! Best, Carl Gibson Faux Radio Show Host, Executive Producer
