  • Moonshots Episode 14: Buckets Lists and Food Rules

    in Sports

"Jess Kleinschmidt and Alex Kolodziej are two peas in a pod, they would be a 7.1/10 couple," one anonymous source said of Moonshots. That actually didn't happen, but we're glad you're here to listen to Episode 14. Before the episode even starts, is there anything more irritating than being heckled for money by homeless people? The answer is no, and you can see the Triggered Meter raises to new levels in the first few minutes of the show. Everyone has things they want to do before they die. Dying isn't fun. Which sporting events would you want to witness before being buried? We give ours. Next time you prepare a meal, take notes of what you do differently. We give our OCD mannerisms when it comes to food, including do's and don't and golden rules. Apparently Hot or Not was a thing back in the day before Facebook (or something). Anyways, Jess was a mean average of 9 and we may need some pics as evidence because I don't buy it (she's a 10, love her, prototypical mom figure). Let's die alone as we mull over why we're single. Moonshots -- it's lit.

  • Stokke On Podcast | Houston Astros trade deadline and thoughts on all 30 teams

    in Baseball

The Stokke On podcast is back to close out the week with it's Friday edition, that was recorded on August 10. Tommy Stokke is joined by co-host Chris Schubert.
This edition opens with a discussion of Jon Heyman's latest edition of Inside Baseball, which has an increased focus on the Houston Astros and their activity (or inactivity) at the trade deadline. They failed to land any of the big name starting pitchers (Yu Darvish, Sonny Gray) or the big reliever (Zach Britton), and the players weren't happy with not making a big splash. What deals could they have made? What should they have done? Will not making any trades ruin their chances come October? Is it a big deal that the players aren't happy?
After that, the guys share their thoughts on all 30 teams, drawing direct inspiration from Heyman's Inside Baseball notes for all 30 teams.

  • Counting J.J. Redick's Money and More!

    in Sports

The Relatively Speaking Podcast woke up early on a Monday morning to swiftly insert entertainment into your cranium via the soft and luscious tones of Jared Mintz and Joseph Nardone. It has been a really busy week in NBA free agency. Major trades, major signings, and all the rumors to keep a basketball junkie away from the evil that is Major League Baseball. We kid. We kid. We love slapstick. After recapping some of the recent action, Jared and Joseph opine for a world where people stop counting J.J. Redick's money. Seriously, guys. It was a one-year deal. The front-end money isn't all that bad when you realize the Sixers have a billion players on rookie contracts -- AND IT IS FOR ONE YEAR! Paul George to Oklahoma City, Chris Paul to Houston, and a few other notable moves, has there been any shift of power out in the Western Conference? Did you guys hear about John Calipari to the New York Knicks? Jared did, and he is irrationally angry about the entire ordeal. As for Joseph, he discusses why he enjoys all of this nonsense and can see a day (off in the future) when Cal hits the NBA and does relatively well. The show closes as every Monday show ends -- with Absurd Questions. Jared wants to know what sport Joseph would be most afraid to play. Joseph asks Jared if he'd rather, you know, an alien or a ghost... really classy stuff. Follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. You can do the same with the other guy @JosephNardone.
