We've probably all heard the phrase "garbage in, garbage out." Our minds can definitely act as sponges, soaking up all the stimuli around us - conversations we listen to, books we read, the television and movies we watch, the webpages we browse, and the music we listen to. The question is, are we pouring in those things that are most profitable to our spiritual life? How strategic are we concerning what we allow to fill our thoughts? Is the Word of God a filter through which all things must pass before they are allowed in our minds or is it merely another stimulus we occasionally partake of?
