Tovia is a natural, seasoned drummer who has a metronome feel with studio chops. She hails from the metropolis of Seattle, Washington. She began her musical destiny in the fourth grade, this led to her drumming for churches, school choirs, stage bandsand, touring the state of Washington for competitions throughout her interscholastic preparatory years. Tovia has also produced a video to an original tune of hers entitled "The Unfunky One" in partnership with her twin sister, Tammy, on bass guitar. Tovia has also played with accomplished artists such as Chaka Khan, Patrice Rushen, Sly Stone,Guitar Shorty, Maceo Parker and Fred Wesley of the world renowned Horny Horns.
