Wanda Colon, the Host of HGTV's 24-Hr. Design and TLC's Home Made Simple, shares with us how she achieved her dream of being a tv personality literally overnight by not only being on one television network, but two!

Last night, friends called me over to have dinner and to have a "pow-wow" meeting on where we'd like to end up next in our lives both financially and personally. We talked of the state of the economy and the stock market. The tension in the air was thick with fear and worry but I couldn't let it stay in that negative state so I simply started discussing the Law of Circulation with my friends and urged them to ignore what we've been reading and seeing in the news. I am a firm believer in collective consciousness, the Law of Attraction and that if man has the power to create problems easily, then we have the power to solve them just as easily.

Enoch Tan states, The Law of Circulation means that all things in the universe are always flowing in circulation and are doing so at an ever expanding rate. What you give to one person, you will receive from a different source. So you don’t have to give with the expectation of receiving back from the same person you give to, but know that it will definitely come back to you multiplied from other sources. It works according to the law of cause and effect where the universe always mirrors back to you whatever you do. So the key here is to remember that if you are not spending money right now because you are worried about the economy, you are actully congesting the system, meaning you are stopping the flow of money dead in its track meaning it WON'T come back to you. Money like everything else is energy so if you don't use it, guess what? It becomes sterile, stagnant and stops moving altogether much like our economy right now, right? Think about it, so many of us have from a collective standpoint "bought" into the media sensationalism and have stopped spending or have disrupted the flow by pulling out their stocks. What happened, we've had one of the largest stock market crashes in history and people began to lose money faster than water traveling downstream. 

The key is to ignore all negative thinking and action and remain in positive action. Now, I am not saying spending everything you've got but I am saying operate from an abundant place rather than from scarcity or desperation thinking. The Universe feels our negative, desperate vibrations and responds in kind. 


 
Enoch Tan also teaches us that "Positive circulation is when things increase as a result. Negative circulation is when things diminish as a result. What you hold on to will keep slipping away until there is nothing left. You can never escape the Law of Circulation. If you try to stop the circulation of things, it will still circulate but in a negative manner. It will be circulated through unexpected expenses such as paying for repairs and replacements of things that are damaged, stolen or lost. Look at areas in your life where you are prevented from keeping your money or being forced to spend it.We are all stewards of the universe resources. If you do not circulate what you have for the work of the universe, what you have will be taken away and given to another who is doing so."

Enoch Tan does also state that when you are giving or spending, do so wisely and from a positive frame of mind. He states that you should give to where your giving would do the most good so that it would flourish. You should give someone or some place that contributes to your personal growth or happiness. Give/spend where you receive spiritual nourishment. Give to people who inspire you, help you and love you. Give to where you receive the most joy. Give to where it makes you most happy to give.

Positive circulation increases the value of things because it is beneficial to both giver and receiver. Negative circulation decrease the value of things because it is detrimental to one or both parties. Positive circulation occurs when what is received is combined and transformed into something better and given away again. Negative circulation occurs when what is received cannot or isn’t used but is released in a state that is worse than before.

What I am challenging us to do then is to spend as we would normally spend, give as we would normally give and ignore the naysayers who operating from fear. Fear only breeds fear but abundance breeds abundance. The Universe has plenty and wants to give back to us but it is only our very own mindset that can prevent us from having everything we want or desire.

The bottom line with what to do in this "difficult economy": Keep the Law of Circulation going and remember, you don't have to believe everything you think....or what others think for that matter!

Stevvi Alexander, Sheryl Crow's backup vocalist and our featured guest on Extreme Dream Radio really got me thinking today. One of the things she mentioned was that she has been on her personal journey to being a professional solo artist for about 15 years. I found it remarkable that while she has seen the world, performed with some of the greatest artists in the world from Stevie Wonder to Patti LaBelle, she has never forgotten nor abandoned her Extreme Dream.

Stevvi shared with us that part of her process has been learning from the experiences she has had by working with other artists in order to fuel her passion for her purpose in life: being a solo artist so she can help and assist teen mothers. While many of us may have turned our backs on our dreams after 15 years of trying to make it happen, Stevvi inspires us to continue to pursue it even more so.

I share in this sentiment. Last year in January 2007, I stepped out on faith and left a full-time career and closed down my coaching practice to live in Spain and Portugal, a 20-year dream. My coach coached me in the area of guided imagery, meditation, visualization and accountability and before I knew it, I was sipping Sangria with the best of them while watching Flamenco in underground bars in Sevilla. My life, thoughts, ideas, and inspirations were totally transformed because of my leap of trust and faith! I definitely did not come back the same ol' Laurie; I came back believing in myself and in my dreams even more so.

One thing I noticed while I was gone on this Spanish adventure was that when I reflected on the journey to get to Spain, it was almost better than actually achieving the dream...fancy that! Once the dream came true and I was able to sit in the stillness, I realized how much I had evolved, stretched and challenged myself and just how much I had gone through and given up to get there. It was such an extraordinary discovery that I wanted to relive that journey all over again.

The bottom-line is: Never discount your journey. The journey is the place where dreams are made!

The truth is I am plagued by writing this blog. I do it at times because I feel I have to in order to stay connected with you, grow my business and "do the right thing..." whatever that is.

I have no idea if I am blogging "correctly" or if I should be blogging at all but at the end of the day, who determines what is right, wrong, good, bad, ugly, honest or dishonest.

I haven't written in a few days because, well, I had no idea what to write. Just as quickly as things had come to my mind on potential topics, they also passed.

The bottom-line is, I haven't written because I was worried. I spent the time thinking of the "perfect" thing to write rather than just writing. I spent the time away, in reality, comparing myself to other guru bloggers who could be taking up your time in a far more effective way than I am. The bottom-line is I left my "little self" do the talking in a big way rather than listen to my Extreme Dream Self, that self which says, "Be detached from the outcome, just play BIG in the world, and know you are coming from love, light, and honesty."

And so it is that I write today's blog from complete honesty and ask that you check in with yourself on the truth radar...where do you stand? How honest have you been with yourself lately?

While I admit writing this entry stung a bit, I feel a sense of relief knowing I let you in on something that felt like a bit secret...
