Since the Egyptian Armed Forces overthrew President Mohamed Morsi on July 3, 2013, members of Congress and foreign policy experts in and out of government have debated whether or not the U.S. should suspend $1.3 billion annual military assistance to Egypt. The Obama administration’s Egypt and Middle East policies are in tatters, but the one thing it has done right is to continue military assistance to the EAF.
