A lot of people will give you a weird look if you talk about bartering or trading.  We're used to going to the store or hopping on our mobile device and making a purchase.  However, a large chunk of the world still barters and trades on a regular basis.

Think about Verizon's phone trade-in program or when you trade in your car for another one (new or used).

We barter more than we realize, but we sometimes fail to realize it because we're so driven by consumerism (for better or worse).

Michael Wigge understands the immense benefits of bartering and swapping and took it upon himself to travel 25,000 miles from Berlin to Antarctica without a penny in his pocket.  Wigge recorded his experiences and shared the wealth of stories from his experience(s).  He also authored How to Travel the World for Free and How to Barter for Paradise.
