The Blue Ribbon Commission on Disproportionate African American Child Deaths was established by
Supervisor Phil Serna to tackle this important issue.
While work has continued on this effort, community
input is still needed. American children comprised 12% of the child population and 32% of Third Party Child Homicide Deaths {nearly 3 times the rate}
