Every Way Woman interviews Star Parker: This is where children have grown up seeing their parent(s) dependent on monthly checks for support and not going to work each day. How can we expect children to know the value of a "hard day's work" when all they have known is money coming in the mail? Parents themselves lose the value of money when it arrives in the mail every two weeks. It no longer has responsibility attached to it, more will just show up. Parents cannot teach their children to budget or save or work hard if they themselves don't feel it’s important. It seems children are learning that this is a normal way of life and that they will be taken care of from now on.
