Evangelist Lisa

Evangelist Lisa is charged by God to oversee Vessels of Vision Ministries and Vessels of Vision Coaching. She is a Licensed Minister, Certified Coach, and Motivational Speaker. She is an Evangelist to the church and the world. Lisa is very serious about maintaining a sacred walk and bringing God glory in return for what He has invested in her. Evangelist Lisa believes it is time for the "church" to grow up and stop spinning its wheels. "As ministers, we consume so much time ministering to spiritually challenged saints that we become imprisoned within our four-walls, and immobilized to do the greater work that Christ calls us to do, and that is to evangelize the world.”

    Fight the Power

    • I was awakened about 3:00 am the other morning with a strong urgency to read my bible.  I went into the living room and immediately got my bible and turned to the book of Proverbs.  Because after all, that’s where I can find immediate instructions, and thereby guided to other scripture passages to soothe my soul.
    •
    • Afterwards, I went back to my bed, and tried to sleep.  But, I kept hearing the phrase “fight the power”.  I realized then that the conversation was not over.  I said “Lord, what do you mean?”  And as I lay there quietly, he began to speak to me.  Of course, I had to grab my pen and pad; because at 3:00 am, I wouldn’t have remembered a thing…LOL!

    • 1.  He explained that we wrestle not against flesh and blood…Ephesians 6:12

The fight for our lives is not about people, places or things.  It is about protecting our position and allegiance as a child of God.  It is satan’s goal to twist our perception and blind us to the fact that we are in a spiritual battle.  When you walk in the flesh you can’t help but to fight in the flesh.  That’s why the Apostle Paul says “walk in the Spirit…Galatians 5:16.

    2.  He said, “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal…”II Corinthians 10:4-6

This is an area where many a Christian has taken the plunge.  We are so used to fighting what we see as oppose to fighting what we do not see.  You know why?  Because it’s foreign to many of us; it sounds plan ‘ol crazy.  We have to realize that we are spirit beings living in a physical body in a physical world.

Remember the movie Ghost?  The character Sam Wheat was killed; he no longer existed in the physical world.  However, he tried to operate or do the things he always did just as if he were still alive; in his own power, what he was used to.  Nothing worked.  Until he realized that he had to change and move in a different direction to get the message to Molly.  When he finally realized what he was (dead to sin), and where he was (in the spirit realm-alive in Christ), he made the shift and things started happening.  He was able to change the course of the evil plots against the lives of others.  Now I may be putting a little much into it but I want you to get the picture.

So how do you fight the powers of satan?

ü  But ye shall receive power… Acts 1:8 – you need the power of the Holy Ghost to withstand against the devil.

ü  On your knees  - Prayer is the key to locking and unlocking, binding and loosing

    ü  Through fasting  -  Isaiah 58:4-6; Matthew 17:21

ü  Through the Word of God – II Timothy 2:15, Matthew 4:1:11

ü  Hide the Word in your heart – Psalms 119:11 – know it for yourself, live it, eat it, breathe it, and bind it about your neck.

ü  Be doers of the Word, not hears only…James 1:22-25 – stop fooling yourself.

ü  …resist the devil…James 4:7 – he’s not going to resist you are admonished to resist him.

But remember; following after Jesus will cost you something

ü  No man having put his hand to the plough…Luke 9:57-62 – the past is the past; it’s time to move forward.   Press toward the mark…Philippians 3:14

ü  Let the dead bury their dead…Luke 9:57-62

    ü  Consider the cost…Luke 14:28-33

ü  Hate father, mother, and sister…Luke 14:26 – our allegiance is to God and Him alone.

It can be done; Jesus is our Greatest Example!

    Be blessed.  Shalom!

In Search of the Good Life!

One of my greatest struggles is to be me.  To be everything that God has created me to be; no ifs ands or buts.  Today the world gives us so many pictures of a successful life, a perfect figure, the best foods, the finest car, or the job that “millions would kill for”.  Do you get the picture of my dilemma?

Me…being a minister of God, wife, mother, and grandmother…mentor, coach, friend…who has time to compete with the world.  But I find myself inching toward what the world calls the “good life”.

I remind myself often that there is no other life than the life that God has given me.  Be it humble or abounding, it is my life.  I have a responsibility to uphold what God has entrusted to me, and to bring to him an expected return of Glory for his investment.

Notice I speak in first person; because I know enough of my own weaknesses not to judge another unrighteously.  We judge in love; realizing our own short comings, we are able to see clearly to offer solutions and hope to those who need it so desperately.

Now don’t get me wrong, I do have a responsibility to act against sin.  But not pour salt on a wound, bring more pain and resistance; but with the balm of love and peace to bring recovery and healing to a lost soul.

I’m reminded of the story of a young man who left his father’s home with his possessions to strike out on his own.  The first few years were great.  He lived it up.  The best clothes, the best foods, the best women, the bling bling, and all that money could buy.  Keeping up with the Jones’.  The Good Life.  But one day something unexpected happened.  The market crashed, and everything he had was gone in an instant.

You know the story; it’s found in Luke 15:11-32.  But look at the statement in Luke 15:17 “And he came to himself…”  Wow! I believe this is the most powerful statement of this story.  It is the pivotal point of this young man’s life.   As Oprah would say, it was his “ah ha” moment.  He remembered.  He remembered who he was, what he has, and what God had invested in him.  The good God life.  He returned home to the loving arms of a father who received him.  He didn’t judge him.  But openly welcomed him back into the fold.  He even threw a big party.  Now that’s the kind of celebration I’d like to receive every time I mess up.  And I do.   Heaven celebrates every time a “son” repents and returns home.

This young man had a life tailor made just for him.  But he had to experience life’s al carte of mishaps before he remembered just who he was.

Have you thought about your life today?  You ARE very special.  Your life was a predestined plan of God.  So it is a Good Life!

Remember, there nothing wrong with living the good life; but it’s so much sweeter with the God life!

    Be Blessed!  Shalom.
